About Me

I am a Digital Producer - Sport with Wide World of Sports based in Sydney - previously I worked at the Central Western Daily in Orange and The Macleay Argus in Kempsey. I graduated in 2019 from Charles Sturt University Bathurst with a double degree Bachelor of Communications/Sports Studies (Sports Journalism).

Before starting my career, I completed my high school education at St Johns College Dubbo.

In my time at Wide World of Sports, I’ve learnt how to cater for a specific audience and engage readers with a story through imagery, well-articulated copy and headlines.

Working at the Central Western Daily and Macleay Argus, I covered sport extensively in two towns where I learnt various editorial skills and pride myself on an ability to source stories and create ideas for content.

Throughout both roles, I worked weekends to ensure I can write a first-hand account on matches and interview coaches or players straight away, providing the best value for consumers.

During all three jobs, chasing exclusive stories has been a great thrill. At WWOS, speaking to Darby Lancaster about his debut and the sacrifice from his team back home in Kempsey is a story I’m glad I could tell.

With the Macleay Argus, I was able to write about Australian boxing legend, Dave Sands, and his family’s desire for better recognition. This story led to a replica Empire Title belt from a fight Sands won in 1949 being handed over to his family at NSW Parliament House.

While mainly focusing on sports, I've been involved in versatile roles covering floods, shark attacks and crime.

Before my roles at ACM I completed internships at SANZAAR, WIN News and ABC, providing me with experience across multiple media platforms.

Long-form journalism is a considerable passion of mine, I believe it allows for the reader to connect emotionally with the story subject/s whether this be done through print, audio or broadcast.
